38 brave souls turned out tonight for round 11 of the Niall Clarke Oils League. It was chilly

The Youths had the most testing course yet and it was no problem to them. As promised we incorporated the steps and it was Lewis Bell who was on the steps first followed by Tadhg Connolly, Jaxon Jennings, and Leo Gallagher. Lewis was out on his own for the majority but it took a couple of laps before the podium was decided. Jaxon Jennings looked back to himself tonight riding strong to take 2nd. Two other fine riders fought it out for 3rd. Leo Gallagher and Tadhg Connolly came to the line together. But it was Leo who took 3rd ahead of Tadhg.

Keeping the course running in the opposite direction we included the far hill field. The boards are further back on fresh grass and it made for a cleaner entry and exit. Rian McCrystal led it out from the start only to have a small mishap in one of the first corners. He recovered well and went on to stay away and take the win. Javan Nulty started well back in the grid but made his way up to 2nd and rode strong to stay there. Emyvale’s finest Declan McEntee was sitting in third but Glyn O Brien was breathing down his neck all night. Glyn just couldn’t get close enough and that left Declan making up the podium in 3rd.

No surprise in the girl’s race, it was Rhiannon Dolan riding off on her own and taking the win. Fresh in her new Spellman kit  Grace O’Rourke finished in a fine 2nd. A real battle for 3rd was happening behind. Ciara O’Connor and Ava Baker couldn’t be separated and it came down to a sprint finish. It couldn’t be called on the line and even the chip timing had them tied in joint 3rd.

3  nights remain. Tuesday 5th December, Friday 8th December and Tuesday 14th December.
